Around 100 people from diverse backgrounds gathered in Bolton for an iftar dinner organised by Great Lever Connected with the contribution of Dialogue Society and Bolton Interfaith Council. The event, which featured local MP Yasmin Qureshi as a guest speaker, offered attendees a chance to reflect deeply on themes of sharing goodness and fostering a spirit of community.

The evening began with prayers led by representatives of different faiths, emphasising the event’s commitment to inclusivity. Guests enjoyed a vibrant program that included a musical performance, a lively Kahoot quiz competition, a traditional Turkish drum show, a Karagöz shadow puppet performance, and a prize raffle.

Children from the Bolton community were also treated to a special entertainment program featuring a clown, ensuring fun for guests of all ages.

Participants highlighted the inclusive spirit of the event, expressing their gratitude to the organising institutions for creating such a colourful and enjoyable evening. They also noted the valuable opportunity the dinner provided for people from various backgrounds and beliefs to connect with each other and reflect on the essence of community spirit.
